It was just recent when a bomb, again, shocked Iliganons as it broke near El Centro. RMN radio announcers confirmed two had died in the incident and twenty were injured (from ANC) which were then brought to Mindanao Sanitarium Hospital (6 injured), City Hospital, Dr. Uy Hospital and other nearby hospitals.

Susama sa Usa ka Halap...

Nahibaw-an na nato kagahapon na ang atong dakbayan sa Iligan kay na-"Budoy" na tungod sa mga brown-out (2x) na atong nasinati. Humana na ta ana gahapon, dili na nato balikon kay samok na. O.o Karon, akong ipabati sa inyo kung unsa pa akong nasaypan ani na mga brown-out (2x).

Kadtong nag-sugod na og patuman na mag-brown-out najud, nag-pagawas ang ILPI (Iligan Light and Power 'Palong') Inc og schedule sa brown-out matag-lugar. Okay na kay makabalo ta kanus-a mag-computer, mag-tan-aw og mga unsa-gud-ng-gusto-nimo-tan-awon na mga salida para dili sab ta maahat na wala pa kasulod ang bida sa iyang lungga (I see what you did there... :p hahaha). Okay na ni. Nisubay pa sila sa pipila ka adlaw. Pero bag-uhay lang, murag na-"Budoy" nasad og apil ning mga taga-Iligan Light and Palong (basin si eBoy na daun sunod, abangan. :p). Kabalo mo ngano? Kabalo ko nasinatian nasad ni ninyo: kay dili na sila mu-sunod sa gi-saad sa ilang schedule. Bag-o ra jud, ga-brown-out around 8pm pero ang gibutang sa schedule kay ganina rang alas-singko dapat mag-brown-out. Tan-awa, ga-computer ko ganina og sa dihang na erase tanan akong gibuhat kay nag-brown-out sa dili saktong oras. (Okay nalang kay nibalik mga 15-30 minutes after. Yaw na mo pag-hilak Budoy. hahahaha.). Aha man ang hustisya dinha?

Okay ramo dira (taga-ILPI o kung knsa manang gagunit sa plangka sa ILIGAN) nga gapataka na lang mo og palong bahalag wala sa schedule? Agoi! Bikil brad? Hahaha...

Ang ako lang diri, kung kailangan jud mag-brown-out sa siyudad, sabton na lang na namo. Pero kanang mag-hatag-hatag pa og schedule (i-post pud raba daun sa mga kolokoy sa fb) dayon dili sundon ang oras sa pag-brown-out, para aha na lang diay na? Pa-charmos rots karots? Klaroha lang palihug. Kung naa may bag-ong schedule, ipapost pud sa inyong mga kolokoy sa facebook para makabalo sad mi. Para dili pud mga ahak ang mga tawo na busy sa computer (Hala, unsa diay ka-busihan? hahaha.)

Mura naman gud mo dayon (sa paglantaw sa mga tawo sa inyo) susama sa usa ka halap...

...walay klaro.

Magkatawa lang ko usahay ba mag-huna-huna aning mga butanaga. Usa ka college student mas maayo pa sa mga dagkong tae sa syudad? Dakong kataw-anan. Lupig pay komedya nila Dolphy og Pokwang. Mag-hagik-hik siguro si PNoy mag-lantaw (basig kani siya utro pud).

Sige lang puhon mangamatay na na sila. Ang kabataan daw ang pag-asa ng bayan. Sige lang mupuli rami ana. Tig-limpyo na lang diay mi ani sa mga hugaw na gibilin sa mga gauna pa namo? Hahai. Ambot kung aha ang utok ani nila gibutang sa ginoo.

Muslim-Christian Relationship: Workable or It's Complicated?

I really wonder whether Muslim-Christian relationship works well in reality because after what I witnessed yesterday I feel that Muslim-Christian relationship is very complicated and turns odd. I was riding a jeepney and sat beside a Muslim old man. I believe that he is the only Muslim inside the jeep and the others are either Catholics or in the other branch of Christianity. Personally, that's no big deal then. Everything was normal and calm.

But the calmness of the sea was disturbed when there's a young Christian/Catholic (I suppose) man passenger getting in the jeep. Even he knows there's no vacant seat available, he still wanted to get in. He then sat down between me and the Muslim old man. Without caution, he abruptly sat. So, the old man got slightly mad, conversing to the young man in the Muslim dialect and having a gesture saying that it hurts. Other passengers took it bad. Some said: "Kangil-ad pud anang tigulanga na! Nganong dili mana siya magpalingkod?" while others "Naunsa na siya? Nganong masuko mana siya?!".Of course, an old man, whether a Muslim or a Christian, is so sensitive and might have some aches in his body and might get hurt. It was not the old man's fault! But that wasn't I expected from them. Though the old man is just around, they still continue to barge him with unethical words in low voices. 

With despair and disappointment towards the Christian/Catholic passengers, I tried to stare at them in their eyes while having this words running in my head: "Ingana dyud diay mo? Mga mapanghusga! I thought we wanted peace? Dili pajud mo ready to have peace with our Muslim brothers. Get that kind of ideology out of your system!"

How would Christians achieve peace with them even in that little situation we already deal with them ill-mannerly ? I say, no peace will be achieve in that kind of mentality! 

As of now, I don't have the power to change those kind of people over-night. What I can do is just to convey what PEACE really is. Lets listen to these songs below:

Iliganon's Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!

Despite of the tragedy that came to us, Iliganons, we still never left grief and sorrow outrun the season's spirit of giving and merry making. Many, still, celebrate Jesus' birth in their respective houses preparing different dishes at their table and feasted by family members. But it is still evident how they consider other families especially to those who are in need by including them on prayers. That's a good sign of showing sympathy to them.

Personally, I feel that this year's season is not worth celebrating. "Kamingaw pud sa pasko oy." That's the common answer to some of my friends when asked as to how their Christmas was. Even though, I still see to it that the true meaning of Christmas was well met y my family: being together and being happy.

Brgy. Hinaplanon, Green Village Victims

I had just arrived from a relief operations lead worked by YAPIS. We went to Green Village, Barangay Hinaplanon to somehow aid the victims there. Despite of the limited goods we are bringing, we still pursue, and drove in the mud along the way just for us to reach the victims. Noodles, canned goods, biscuits, water and clothings were some of the goods we are giving among the victims.

We were shock by what the people there told us that since yesterday we were the first people who tried to reach them and give some goods. I thought that the police, armies, or the authorities already made contact with them but, no, they weren't there since the day of the catastrophe had happened. And I said to myself, "Why? Why didn't they try to penetrate the area?" and "How come they haven't entered here?" OMG! Where are they? Roving around the city? tsk3... 

As what the affected people are crying at, they need drinking water the most! They can't cook well for the water supply is so scarce. For those who wanted to donate and help, the following goods are the most preferred stuffs for donations:

1. Drinking Water
2. Canned and Instant Goods
3. Clothings

I encourage different organizations and institutions to give your donations DIRECTLY to the affected families just to make sure your help/donations will be delivered well...

Hail Gil Regular Programs

I want to announce that starting today I will host three regular programs that shows the environment/society that I am in. I like to share the whereabouts of these three institutions which are important and vital in building the kind of person I might be in the future.

MSU- Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) is one of the campuses comprising the Mindanao State University (MSU) System. This is where I'm taking my bachelor's degree in English (AB-English). 

My sole organization, Youth Advocates Productive Integrated Service, Inc (YAPIS), is one of the most active youth organization both in Iligan and in the whole region of Northern Mindanao (also in the country). YAPIS had been a nominee of the Ten Outstanding Youth Organization years 4 and 6. This organization comprises the youth, students and young professionals.

Iligan City, the city of waterfalls, is where I was born. This is the best city ever!
